Helena Xpress Singers

Helena Xpress Singers

What does Helena Xpress Singers do?
  • Perform four-part harmony to entertain and support our community
  • Continually strive to develop a quality choral sound
  • Perform, compete and have fun with friends who share the joy of a cappella harmony
  • Fun social times include picnics, parties and retreats

Why should I sing with Helena Xpress Singers?

  • The opportunity to meet weekly and rehearse with other women who love to sing four-part harmony, creating a unique and memorable musical experience.
  • The opportunity to grow and improve our individual and group vocal skills

I can't read music. Can I still sing with you?

New members receive a notebook containing sheet music and also audio learning CDs or digital files containing our current repertoire. There are a lot of ways to learn music, so whatever works best for you is great!

Where do yo perform?

At benefits, banquets, retirement and nursing homes, special events, flashmobs, conventions, fundraisers, and other community functions.  We also produce and direct our own shows!

Beyond performing in our community, we also perform competitively every year.  Contest weekend is great fun and allows us to travel to various locations in the Pacific Northwest!

How do I join?

Any woman who can sing and wants to participate can join!  You will be asked to audition after attending three to six rehearsals.  Don’t worry - you will be able to sing a song of your choice, from those you have been rehearsing with us at chorus, and you won’t be singing alone.  You will have a private audition with music team members singing along!

After a successful audition, you complete the membership application and pay your dues.  Your membership is then presented to the chorus for  a vote.  (On your third visit, you will receive dues information.)

What about quartet singing?

We encourage and promote quartet singing! It may be as fun as singing in one’s own living room with three other singers, or as challenging as singing at Regional Competition.

Are there additional music education opportunities?

As members of Sweet Adelines Region 13, we are offered various educational opportunities.

  • The chorus hires coaches to assist our members in improving vocal skills.
  • Weekly rehearsals include ongoing music education.
  • Members can also elect to attend the International Convention each year and other educational opportunities sponsored by Sweet Adelines International.

I still have questions - who should I contact?

Our Membership Coordinator, Sandy Smith, would be happy to answer any of your questions. Call/text her at 406-465-460 or email Membership@HelenaXpressSingers.org
